THE CROSS

The heart of Streetcorners Ministries is the cross of Jesus Christ.  Jesus said "I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me."  John 14:6 NIV.  Jesus offers the only Way to peace with God, His Word is absolute Truth, and through his death and resurrection is eternal Life.  He purchased the right for all who truly believe in Him, to become his children though His finished work on the cross.  As children of Jesus Christ, our right response to God, is to take up a cross ourselves as we die to self in order to live for Him.  Matthew 10:38

THE STREETCORNER

The cross on our logo also symbolizes a street corner, or intersection.  In Matthew 22:9, Jesus commands His followers to go out to the street corners (NIV) and invite to his great banquet, all who will come. We are to go where the people are, to invite them to partake of the free gift of salvation and the fullness of God in Christ Jesus.  This is our commission: To go out and tell all who will listen the good news of Jesus Christ.

THE CANOPY

The arch over the top of the logo symbolizes the mercy, grace, protection and provision of God.  Truly, those who know God, find in Him complete trustworthiness in all situations.  He has saved us, transformed us and walks with us every moment of our lives.  Notice the cross in the logo provides the only entrance into such a relationship with God.  This speaks again of Christ being the only one who can offer this, anyone not entering through Christ will not be allowed to stay.  Matthew 22:11-13 NIV.
